New skill, Force Paint

So we had to go in and colour a layout we did at some point in the first year. I decided to choose my Star Wars themed kitchen. I went with a cloud city Bespin feel, that ongoing sunset look. I also threw in a Miraluka. Which doesn't make much sense but hell, there is a lot that doesn't in Star Wars.

So for character design I had to come up with a character to reproduce in three different styles. I was thoroughly stumped and frustrated at first but quickly got some inspiration and threw this together. The three styles from left to right are marker and ink, with a Ralph Steadman feel. The next is my own, in a digital format. Third is based on Yoshitaka Amano's style. I didn't have watercolor on hand so I used gouache, I was happy with it.

Awful Nick Cage Caricature.

Had to do a caricature of a celeb and I did the most amazing actor, Nick Cage. I ended up with more of a portrait. Need to nail this caricature thing.

Mad Scientist Lab

Oh, there we go, finally got it to work. This is my demonic mad scientist though the scan didn't bring out the H P Lovecraft pentagram on the floor. This is my labour of love as far my digital work is going to be concerned. Needs a lot of touching up.

The idea is that lightning would hit a series of rods that descended down the stairs and arc to the bottom, channeling at each of the five points of the pentagram's star. That combined with the demonic incantation would cause a beam to launch upward, piercing the sky and opening a rift to a demonic portal.
