New skill, Force Paint

So we had to go in and colour a layout we did at some point in the first year. I decided to choose my Star Wars themed kitchen. I went with a cloud city Bespin feel, that ongoing sunset look. I also threw in a Miraluka. Which doesn't make much sense but hell, there is a lot that doesn't in Star Wars.

Gypsies Gypsies Gypsies

So for character design I had to come up with a character to reproduce in three different styles. I was thoroughly stumped and frustrated at first but quickly got some inspiration and threw this together. The three styles from left to right are marker and ink, with a Ralph Steadman feel. The next is my own, in a digital format. Third is based on Yoshitaka Amano's style. I didn't have watercolor on hand so I used gouache, I was happy with it.

Awful Nick Cage Caricature.

Had to do a caricature of a celeb and I did the most amazing actor, Nick Cage. I ended up with more of a portrait. Need to nail this caricature thing.

Mad Scientist Lab

Oh, there we go, finally got it to work. This is my demonic mad scientist though the scan didn't bring out the H P Lovecraft pentagram on the floor. This is my labour of love as far my digital work is going to be concerned. Needs a lot of touching up.

The idea is that lightning would hit a series of rods that descended down the stairs and arc to the bottom, channeling at each of the five points of the pentagram's star. That combined with the demonic incantation would cause a beam to launch upward, piercing the sky and opening a rift to a demonic portal.

Once upon a time.... In a kitchen far far away....

My kitchen was Star Wars themed. The story here is a pan left to right where a group of storm troopers step in on a group of smugglers having a meeting. The battle rages through and yeah, thats the tale. I was thinking of bespin when I plotted this one out.

Campsite.

This one was my camp site idea. I was doing research and couldn't find anything terribly interesting to jump into this assignment with. Luckily I stumbled upon some pictures of the bat shit crazy climbers who camp on the sides of mountains while climbing them. I took that Idea and ran with it, this is what came from it. 

Barber Shop

So, I had to do a barber shop, the idea behind it is that you go in, free and have a seat. The barber cuts your hair however you like and you waltz off happy as a pig in shit.

The Catch.

Your nude, its a life drawing studio. The tradeoff of a free cut is that you have to model whilst getting the cut. The only real downside is you can't wear that black cover thingy, you'd be covered in hair. All yeti like.

Cell Shading Assignment for Digital, decided to add some of my own flavour at the end. YOU SAY YOU LIKE ROUGH, ME GOT PLENTY ROUGH!
